Bombing at Jerusalem university kills 7

Two Israelis and five foreigners were killed July 31 when Palestinian militants detonated a bomb in a crowded cafeteria at Jerusalem's Hebrew University, medical sources said.
More than 80 people were injured in the lunchtime attack in the Frank Sinatra International Students Center, on the university's Mount Scopus campus near Arab East Jerusalem.
The Islamic militant group Hamas said it carried out the Bombing in revenge for an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip on July 22 that killed its military commander and 14 others, including nine children. 4In a rare divergence from the usual tactics of Hamas, the attack seemed not to have been a suicide bombing. Police said the bomb was probably left in a bag.
The target was also an unusual one, as it is one of few places where Arabs and Israelis mingle.
International leaders, including U.S. President George W. Bush, were swift to condemn the attack, which included three Americans and two Israelis among its casualties.
The blast, condemned by President Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority, followed an earlier suicide bombing that wounded four people in Jerusalem on July 30.
