不審船、ついに引き上げ
日本の引き揚げ作業船が11日、東シナ海の海底から不審船を引き揚げた。
Japan raises alleged North Korean spy ship
A Japanese salvage ship Sept. 11 raised the suspected spy ship that sank in the East China Sea last December during a firefight with Japan Coast Guard vessels.
The wreck was brought up from some 90 meters under the surface, revealing a 30-meter-long, 180-ton vessel with a set of double doors on its stern — a feature common to North Korean spy ships identified in the past.
A small boat was found behind the double doors. Analysts said North Korean spy ships often carry smaller vessels to be used to land agents in Japan.
The ship will probably not be identified before the Sept. 17 summit between Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il.
