Terror grips Southeast Asia

BALI, Indonesia (AP) - New terror fears gripped Asia on Oct. 4, after coordinated attacks on three crowded restaurants killed 22 people and wounded many more.

Indonesia, however, has ignored calls to outlaw al-Qaida-linked terror group Jemaah Islamiyah, which is suspected in the deadly suicide bombings.

Adding to tensions, a Muslim cleric jailed for conspiracy in 2002 bombings, which killed 202 people, has said the latest attacks were a warning from God.

Investigators continue to piece together evidence from the scenes of the blasts. They have also renewed calls for anyone who recognized the photographs of the severed heads of the three suicide bombers

Also, a chilling video showing a suspected bomber strolling past diners at one of the cafes moments before it was blown up could provide a boost to the investigation.

Tighter security has been implemented across Bali, and in other Southeast Asian nations.
