Prosecutors demand life for Obara
Prosecutors demanded Oct. 3 that Joji Obara be given a life sentence for raping and fatally drugging 21-year-old British woman Lucie Blackman, whose body was found dismembered in a cave in Miura, Kanagawa Prefecture. Obara has pleaded not guilty, but has sent ¥100 million to Blackman's family in condolence. Obara is also charged with drugging and raping nine other women. (Kyodo)
