Solution found for curriculum chaos

The government came up with a solution Nov. 1 for high-school seniors who have not taken all compulsory subjects because schools did not cover the minimum curriculum requirements. Seniors failing graduation requirements number 83,743, or 7.2 percent of all seniors in Japan, officials said. Part of the solution will be that students who lack two credits will take 50 50-minute sessions. Meanwhile, a high-school principal in Ibaraki Prefecture has committed suicide over the issue.
