Google buys YouTube for $1.65 billion

Internet search engine Google will buy YouTube for $1.65 billion (¥197 billion). The deal was announced Oct. 9, and is expected to bring together one of the Internet's most well-established companies, the 8-year-old Google, and one of the Internet's newest companies, popular video-sharing site YouTube. Experts, however, say that YouTube may face problems in the future because of copyright issues concerning the videos posted on its site. (AP)

米インターネット検索大手のグーグルは9日、動画共有サイトの「ユーチューブ」を16億5,000万ドル（約1,970億円）で買収することに合意した。
