Gunman kills hostage, self in Colorado

A gunman, believed to be between 30 and 50 years old, took six girls hostage at the high school in Bailey, Colorado, on Sept. 27. He used them as human shields for hours before he shot and fatally wounded a girl. He then killed himself as a SWAT team moved into the school. The incident recalled the horror of the 1999 attack on Columbine High School, just nearby, where two students killed 13 people before committing suicide. (AP)
