Religious sect raided for mass beating

Police raided the headquarters of a religious sect in Komoro, Nagano Prefecture, on Oct. 15 and arrested 21 women for allegedly beating a 63-year-old member to death.
Kigenkai, founded in 1970, is based on Shinto and has about 400 members across Japan. Among those arrested were a girl as young as 15 and a woman as old as 80. (AP)

警察は10月15日、長野県の宗教団体の会員21人を、63歳の女性に集団で暴行を加え死亡させた疑いで逮捕した。
