Japan falls in OECD education rankings
|

Japanese first-year high school students on Dec. 4 were ranked lower than before in reading, science, and mathematics in an international survey by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Japanese students fell from second to sixth place in science, from 14th to 15th in reading, and from sixth to 10th in mathematics. Finland was first for science, South Korea first for reading, and Taiwan first for mathematics. Japan had been first in mathematics in 2003. (Kyodo)

OECD(経済協力開発機構)が12月4日に発表した学力調査で、日本の高校1年生の順位は前回調査より後退したことが明らかになった。
