Large numbers have metabolic syndrome

About half of Japanese men aged 40 to 74 suffer from or are likely to suffer from metabolic syndrome, a form of obesity with increased risk of strokes and other illnesses, the government said May 16. The percentage was 51.4 percent for men, 20.3 percent for women. (Kyodo)
