'War orphans' end suit, take deal

More than 2,000 Japanese who were left behind in China at the end of World War II decided July 8 to drop their lawsuits and accept a new support plan, including a full pension. The lawsuits over the government's failure to swiftly bring them back and provide adequate support were first filed in December 2002. (Kyodo)
