Opera singer breaks sales record

A song called "Sen no kaze ni natte" sung by Japanese tenor Masafumi Akikawa has marked 1 million single CD sales, data showed Aug. 13. This makes Akikawa the first opera singer to achieve such a sales record in Japan
The song is based on an anonymous poem called "Do not stand at my grave and weep," and was translated by writer Man Arai, who also composed the melody. (Kyodo)
