Goldman CEO breaks bonus record

Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein broke the record for the largest Wall Street bonus ever — $53.4 million (¥6.3 billion). It included a cash bonus of $27.3 million (¥3.2 billion), while the rest was paid in stock and options.

The record had been broken only a week earlier by Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack, who received $40 million (¥4.7 billion) in stock and options.

Other than Blankfein, 11 other senior Goldman executives as a group were granted slightly more than $150 million (¥17.7 billion) in shares and stock options. (AP)
