A gunman killed 32 people at Virginia Tech University in the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history April 16, cutting down his victims in two attacks two hours apart before the university could grasp what was happening and warn students

The bloodbath ended when the gunman, who was a South Korean immigrant, committed suicide, bringing the death toll to 33.

Between the two attacks, Cho Seung Hi, 23, who had a history of mental illness, mailed NBC a package that contained photos and videos of himself ranting about rich "brats" and their "hedonistic needs."

"You had 100 billion chances and ways to have avoided today," Cho says. "You forced me into a corner and gave me only one option. The decision was yours. Now you have blood on your hands that will never wash off." (AP)
