ベネズエラの民放閉鎖で大規抗議デモ
ベネズエラで5月28日、反政府系の民放テレビ局の放映中止をめぐって起きたデモに対し、国防軍は催涙ガスやゴム弾を使用した。
Protests as Chavez shuts down TV station
The Venezuelan National Guard fired tear gas and rubber bullets May 28 into a crowd of protesters angry over a decision by President Hugo Chavez that forced a critical television station off the air.
Chavez had refused to renew Radio Caracas Television's license, accusing it of "subversive" activities, "poisoning'' Venezuelans with programming that promoted capitalism, and of backing a 2002 coup against him
Chavez has replaced it with a new state-funded channel. The only major surviving opposition-sided TV channel is Globovision, which is not seen in all parts of the country
The president has attacked Globovision too, accusing it of using "subliminal messages" to call for his assassination.
