Former White House aide sent to jail
Former White House aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby was sentenced June 5 to 30 months in prison. Libby, 56, formerly a trusted aide to U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, was convicted in March for lying to investigators probing whether White House officials leaked the name of CIA officer Valerie Plame.
The leak was allegedly to avenge criticism of the war in Iraq by Plame's ex-diplomat husband, Joseph Wilson. (AP)
