Two terrorist plots foiled in Europe

Three suspected Islamic militants were arrested on allegations of plotting attacks on the U.S. military base in Ramstein, Germany, and Frankfurt's international airport, sources said Sept. 5. Reports have said the three have links to al-Qaida. Also, eight men — of Pakistani, Afghan, Somali and Turkish origin — were arrested Sept. 4 in Denmark. Authorities said they too were linked to al-Qaida. (AP)
