イラクで外国の請負会社の扱いを見直し中
イラク政府は9月18日、アメリカの民間警備会社が民間人を射殺した事件に関与したとされることから、民間警備会社の扱いを見直すことを明らかにした。
Foreign contractors under review in Iraq
Iraq said Sept.18 it would review the status of private security companies after the alleged involvement of Blackwater USA in the fatal shooting of civilians. Eleven people were shot by Blackwater employees Sept. 16 following a car bomb attack against a U.S. State Department convoy. Blackwater has been ordered to leave the country.
It was the latest incident in which contractors have been accused of killing Iraqi citizens. None has faced charges or prosecution. Under a law issued by the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq before the Iraqis regained sovereignty in June 2004, contractors have immunity from Iraqi law. (AP)
