Rebel forces stormed an African Union base in Darfur, Sudan, and killed at least 10 peacekeepers in an unprecedented attack that threatened upcoming peace talks.
More than 20 peacekeepers were still missing Oct. 1.
About 1,000 rebels from the Sudan Liberation Army attacked the base after sunset.
The rebels used armored vehicles and rocket-propelled grenades, an indication that they are more heavily armed than many people believed. (AP)
