Winter Olympics to be held in Russia

Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi was awarded the 2014 Olympics on July 4. Sochi defeated the South Korean city of Pyeongchang in the final round of a vote by the International Olympic Committee. It is the first time the Winter Olympics will be held in Russia. Salzburg, Austria, had originally been a contender but was knocked out in the first round. (AP)
