NHK selects outsider as president
|

The management committee of Japan Broadcasting Corp. (NHK) decided Dec. 25 to appoint Asahi Breweries adviser Shigeo Fukuchi as the new NHK president.
Fukuchi replaces Genichi Hashimoto, whose three-year term expires in January. Hashimoto has had a troubled relationship with the management committee during his term.
Fukuchi, 73, is the first president from outside NHK since the late Yoshizo Ikeda from Mitsui and Co., who stepped down in 1989. (Kyodo)

NHK経営委員会は12月25日、橋本元一会長の後任にアサヒビールの福地茂雄相談役を起用することを決めた。外部から会長を招へいするのは19年ぶりのことである。
