Bill takes aim at unsafe pet food

The Cabinet approved a bill March 4 to ban the manufacture, sale and import of pet food that contains harmful substances. The bill comes after thousands of pet dogs and cats died in the United States last year allegedly because of Chinese-made pet food. Companies who break the law could be fined up to ¥100 million.
