Cinemas cancel 'Yasukuni' screenings

Cinemas in Tokyo have backed out of screening "Yasukuni," a government-funded documentary on Yasukuni Shrine by Chinese director Li Ying, sources said March 31. The move came amid pressure from nationalists. Some lawmakers had also asked for a preview to check whether the film was anti-Japanese. (AP)
