Nippon Cultural Broadcasting will air an audio recording of an execution carried out at the Osaka Detention House in 1955, sources said April 15. The broadcast, which is scheduled for May 6, will be the first of its kind by a Japanese radio station. The recording includes conversations between the inmate and the guards. The radio station hopes that the broadcast will promote debate about capital punishment. (The Japan Times)
