DNA links man with 1994 murder

Police said Dec. 26 that they plan to charge Kazuo Oshitani, 48, with the murder of a 26-year-old woman in a hotel in Osaka in 1994. Oshitani is already under arrest for dumping women's underwear this year around Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture. He had worn the underwear himself. Police were able to find a DNA link between Oshitani and the murder through fluid found on the underwear and that found at the scene of the crime. (Kyodo)
