Olympic events canceled in Nagano

Events in the city of Nagano, which were to accompany the Olympic torch relay, have been canceled because of security concerns, city officials said April 14. Officials were worried about human rights protesters. The events were scheduled for April 26. The torch relay itself will continue as planned in Nagano, the venue of the 1998 Winter Olympics.
