Squid fishers protest rising oil prices
|

Around 3,000 squid fishing ships suspended operations June 18 to draw attention to rising fuel costs that are seriously affecting their business. Fuel oil is used by fishermen not only to operate the squid fishing ships but to power the lamps for luring squid. Similar suspensions are being considered by 12 other fishing industry organizations. 燃料価格高騰で、イカ釣り休業
6月18日、燃料価格の高騰により、イカ釣り漁船およそ3,000隻が漁を中止することになった。いさり火をたくイカ釣り漁は移動以外にも燃料が必要なため、価格高騰は大打撃だ。
