From Hawaii to Japan on wave power
Adventurer Kenichi Horie completed an unprecedented Hawaii-Japan voyage in a boat powered only by the power of waves July 4. Horie, 69, left Honolulu in March and arrived 110 days later between the capes of Hinomisaki, Wakayama Prefecture, and Kamodamisaki, Tokushima Prefecture. The journey was around 7,800 kilometers long. (Kyodo News)
