Survivor of '94 sarin attack dies
Sumiko Kono, left comatose by the June 1994 Aum Shinrikyo sarin attack in Matsu-moto, Nagano Prefecture, died Aug. 5 of respiratory failure. She was 60. Kono and her husband, Yoshiyuki, 58, were at home June 27, when seven people were killed and more than 100 injured. Kono survived cardiac arrest but sustained severe brain damage. (Kyodo News)
