|
NHK announced Jan. 28 that it will launch Japan's first 24-hour international broadcasting service in February. NHK World TV will provide international news in English, with a focus on Japan and Asia. It will be available in some 70 countries and regions via satellite, cable TV and the Internet. The service will not be available to viewers in Japan, partly due to broadcasting laws, but management said they hope this would change soon. (The Japan Times)
