|
A former top Russian spy says his agents helped the Russian government steal nearly $500 million from the United Nations in 2003.
Sergei Tretyakov used to be the deputy head of intelligence at Russia's U.N. mission from 1995 to 2000. He defected with his family to the United States in 2000 as a double agent.
Tretyakov says he recruited U.N. staff, and he oversaw an operation where millions of dollars were taken from the United Nation's oil-for-food program before the fall of Saddam Hussein. (AP)
