Microsoft drops $42.3 billion bid for Yahoo

Microsoft withdrew its $42.3 billion (¥4.4 trillion) bid to buy Yahoo on May 3.
Microsoft was willing to pay $47.5 billion (¥5 trillion), or $33 (¥3,500) per share, for Yahoo, but Yahoo was asking for at least $53 billion (¥5.6 trillion), or $37 (¥3,900) per share.
If Microsoft had agreed to Yahoo's demands, Yahoo would have doubled its stock price since Microsoft first made its bid three months ago.
