N. Korea rejects shooting investigation
|
|
North Korea refused July 15 to cooperate in an investigation into the killing of a South Korean tourist at a North Korean resort.
A 53-year-old housewife was killed by a North Korean soldier at the Diamond Mountain resort July 11.
North Korea says the woman had wandered into a restricted military area. It says she tried to flee after she was caught, and that was when she was shot.
North Korea is refusing to let South Korean officials visit the area. It has expressed regret over the incident but says the case is closed. South Korea says there are still many unanswered questions. (AP)
