North Korea denies it sent female spy
North Korea denied Sept. 3 that a woman arrested a week earlier by South Korean prosecutors for espionage was spying for North Korea while pretending to be a defector.
The 34-year-old woman allegedly passed classified information to the North, such as locations of key South Korean military installations, since 2001. She allegedly used "sex as a tool" to get the information from a South Korean army officer.
North Korea claims the South made up the case to damage the North's image, saying the woman was "a criminal who fled after committing crimes against the state."(AP)
