Bhutto's widower elected president
Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of assassinated former Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto, was elected Pakistan's new president Sept. 6.
His inauguration completes Pakistan's return to civilian rule nearly nine years after Pervez Musharraf seized power.
Zardari is a controversial figure, having spent a decade in prison for corruption. He also has little leadership experience. (AP)
