Oldest American necklace found in Peru

A gold necklace, made nearly 4,000 years ago, was found in a burial site near Lake Titicaca in Peru, sources said April 1. It is the earliest-known piece of gold jewelry found in the Americas. The necklace is made of nine small gold tubes and round stones that are either greenstone or turquoise. (AP)
