American League wins All-Star Game

New York's Yankee Stadium, which closes for demolition in November, hosted Major League Baseball's longest-ever All-Star Game on July 15. After 15 innings over 4 hours and 50 minutes, the American League (AL) won 4-3 over the National League. The teams set records for strikeouts (34), runners left on base (28) and players (63). A crowd of 55,632 came to honor the 85-year-old ballpark. (AP)
