|
|
The world's largest particle collider passed its first major tests Sept. 10. The Large Hadron Collider fired two beams of protons in opposite directions around a 27-kilometer underground ring. Scientists hope to use the machine, which is located under France and Switzerland, to simulate the conditions of the "Big Bang" that created the universe. (AP)
