Priest caught nabbing holy statues

A former priest in Nara Prefecture was arrested Sept. 2 for allegedly stealing four Buddhist statues from a temple, and is suspected of more heists. A Kyoto antiques dealer bought the four statues from ex-priest Kiyotaka Kanafuri, 62, for more than ¥100,000. (Kyodo News)
