Teachers to join Antarctic research
|

Two teachers will join Japan's Antarctic research expedition team to give students back home lessons by satellite about the nature of the icy continent, a research group organizing the team said Sept. 29. The National Institute of Polar Research selected Hideko Nagai, an elementary school teacher in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture, and Yoshihiro Morita, who teaches geoscience and physics at a Nara Prefecture high school, from among 18 applicants. Nagai and Morita, both 48, will join the team leaving for Antarctica in November. (Kyodo News)
