Sotomayor OK'd by U.S. judiciary panel

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on July 28 voted to approve Sonia Sotomayor as the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice over nearly solid Republican opposition, sending the nomination to the Senate floor for a historic confirmation vote.
