Three killed in U.S. bus accident

Three Japanese tourists were killed and six others sustained serious injuries when a bus carrying 15 people veered off a highway in Utah and rolled over, local police said Aug. 10. The six injured, some of whom were listed in critical condition, were taken to hospitals in Salt Lake City following the accident Aug. 9, the police said. Six passengers who suffered minor injuries were sent to hospitals in Cedar City. The bus was en route to Bryce Canyon National Park, a popular tourist destination. (Kyodo News)
