Hasegawa wins featherweight title

Hozumi Hasegawa was back on top of the world as the new WBC featherweight champion after beating top-ranked Juan Carlos Burgos of Mexico by decision Nov. 26. Hasegawa, ranked second at featherweight, had moved up two weight classes from bantamweight, the title which he defended 10 times before losing the belt in April to Mexico's Fernando Montiel who won by TKO. Hasegawa, from Hyogo Prefecture, is now 29-3 with 12 knockouts. (Kyodo News)
