Robbers plunder record cash haul

Two men broke into a security company office in Tachikawa, Tokyo, on May 12, and took off with ¥604 million in cash, the largest-ever cash haul in Japan, Tokyo police said. The two men entered the office wearing masks at around 3 a.m., beat a security guard with an iron pipe, forced him to reveal the code for a vault and made off with the cash in 70 bags, police said.
