Festival, dance to go on heritage list

A UNESCO committee reviewing nominations for Intangible Cultural Heritage status has decided to add a rice-planting festival in Hiroshima Prefecture and a ritual dance performed at a shrine in Shimane Prefecture to the list, the Cultural Affairs Agency said. Hiroshima's Mibu no Hana Taue harvest ritual and Shimane's Sada Shin Noh sacred music and dance will bring to 20 the number of Japanese cultural traditions on the list. (Kyodo News)
無形文化遺産に「壬生の花田植」「佐陀神能」
広島県の農耕行事「壬生の花田植」や松江市の佐太神社の神楽「佐陀神能」が、新たにユネスコの無形文化遺産に登録されることが決定した。
