New Michelin guide hits French shelves

A new version of the Michelin Green Guide Japon went on sale May 13 in France, mentioning for the first time the historic Kumano Kodo route in western Japan, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and other tourist attractions as three-star destinations. Nihon Michelin Tire Co. President Bernard Delmas said the company is hoping the book will help curb the fall in foreign tourism to Japan since the March 11 quake and tsunami set off a nuclear crisis in eastern Japan.
