Tokyo college plans English-only course

The University of Tokyo said July 22 it will launch a course with classes completely in English from fiscal 2012 as part of efforts to promote internationalization. The entrance exam for the course, to be set up in the College of Arts and Science, will also be conducted in English as it mainly targets foreign students. Applicants are required to have been educated in languages other than Japanese for 10 years or more before graduating from high school. (Kyodo News)
