Astronaut Yamazaki retires

Naoko Yamazaki, Japan's second female astronaut, said in a press conference Aug. 31 that she wants to work as a freelance outer space educator after resigning from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency the same day. "Instead of me going to outer space again, I want to see more people travel there in the future," she said, adding she wants to take up work that will help familiarize people with space flight.
山崎さん、宇宙飛行士引退
宇宙飛行士の山崎直子さんが8月31日、宇宙航空研究開発機構を同日付で退職し、宇宙飛行士を引退したことを明らかにした。
