Mock Mars mission 'returns' to Earth

After enduring 520 days of isolation from the world as part of a simulated journey to Mars and back, six researchers are enjoying their "return" to Earth. The crew of three Russians, a Frenchman, an Italian-Colombian and a Chinese appeared energetic and joyful at their first news conference after leaving their claustrophobic quarters Nov. 4. The facility at Moscow's Institute for Medical and Biological Problems included living compartments the size of a bus, connected with several other similarly sized modules for experiments and exercise.
