Girl, 8, used for suicide bombing
|
|
Afghan security officials say insurgents gave an 8-year-old Afghan girl a concealed bomb and detonated it as she approached police in the country's south, killing her. Afghan authorities said June 26 no one else was hurt in the bomb attack a day earlier in the Char Chino district of Uruzgan province. The insurgency occasionally uses children in its attacks to avoid suspicion. In May, a 12-year-old boy detonated a vest packed with explosives inside a bazaar in the Barmal district of Paktika province, killing four civilians. (AP)
